Morishita SS: Ear Gun

“Um… I-I, well… it’s just that…”

Right in front of me was Miki Yamamura, whining and grumbling, sniffling and squirming.

She just couldn’t get to the point.

What annoyed me more, though, was Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, simply watching over her quietly like some benevolent father patiently waiting for his daughter to grow up.

“So… what I mean to say is…”

In this world, time is money. And since I plan to spend this afternoon outside indulging in a bit of people-watching, I’d really like to get this over with quickly.

Besides, parenting isn’t just about watching over them, you know.

As someone who has successfully raised tadpole shrimps, I know that well.

I moved quietly, slipping into position beside her without her even noticing. Her entire field of vision was locked on Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, blind to everything else.

Oh dear, someone who prides herself on her ability to shadow people to be flanked so easily, embarrassing.

For such a careless girl, I’ll let her taste one of my special techniques.

I pursed my lips, gathered my peach-scented breath, and aimed squarely at her exposed ear.

“Fwooosh!”

She let out a shriek unlike anything I’d ever heard, proof that my attack had succeeded brilliantly.

“Hya-wawa-wahhh!”

“Wh-wh-wha-what are you doing...!”

“Hmph. This is the Ear Gun. Everyone gets startled when it catches them off guard.”

“You just twisted the word ‘air gun’ to make it sound like that, but… isn’t it still basically the same?”

Indeed, the power of the Ear Gun lay in the element of air. For him to realize the truth behind my special move in an instant….

“Now that you mention it, that's true. I’ll give you some credit, Ayanokoji Kiyotaka.”

However, this secret technique wasn’t just for show.

It was to push Yamamura Miki forward, frozen as she was by nerves.

As a finishing touch, I gave her cheek a little pinch.

“Wha-what are you…!?”

“Well, Yamamura Miki. Don’t you feel a little more relaxed now?”

By making her pause and reflect, she should now be able to take at least one step forward.

And so, once again, I lend my aid to those around me.

What a remarkable person I am. Sometimes my genius is.. It's almost frightening—
